There are moments when we attempt to impress those around us. Occasionally, it goes well, but other times, it falls flat.
A zookeeper wanted to show off for his girlfriend while working at Lion Park in Parkent, Uzbekistan. F Iriskulov made the risky decision to unlock a restricted area and step into the lion’s den, which did not end well for him.
He filmed himself as he unlocked the gate and entered the space where three lions were kept. As the lions rose and came closer to him, the situation quickly took a turn for the worse.
As the zookeeper entered the enclosure, the lions appeared relatively unfazed by his presence. However, when one of the lions stood up, it began to move closer while the zookeeper called out for Simba.
You can hear him saying, “Simba, be quiet,” as the situation developed. Even though he urged them to settle down, the lions approached, and soon after, you can hear him yelling in fear as the big cats launched an attack.
The video abruptly ends shortly after his cries begin. Reports indicate that two of the lions were tranquilized, while one was shot by zoo personnel.
When the authorities reached the location, they found Iriskulov deceased, with the lions having ‘partially consumed the body.’
According to regional police, “On December 17, three lions housed together in a cage at the Lion Park private zoo in the Parkent district of Tashkent Region managed to escape into the zoo’s courtyard.
“[…] The lions then entered the yard, where they attacked and injured a 44-year-old keeper born in 1980. Sadly, the keeper succumbed to his injuries later on.”
