Her brother Chris Combs, who stars in the show “1000-Lb Sisters,” joined her in the moment and helped her achieve and maintain her weight loss target.
Tammy Slaton is delighted with her progress and recognizes that she has reached a watershed moment on her journey to a better lifestyle.
The moment Slaton weighed herself was captured on camera and uploaded on Instagram by TLC, the network that airs the reality show “1000-Lb Sisters.” The video showed Slaton weighing 281.2 pounds, which she hadn’t seen in years. “I weighed 303 pounds the last time I saw Dr. Smith,” Slaton recalled.
Chris Comb, her perplexed sister, said something quite intelligent: “That is commendable!” In an admission, Slaton told the audience, “Chris said he weighs 284 pounds.” I weigh little less than Chris right now. I feel a bit lighter now. To be honest, that is quite fantastic. I believe the last time I weighed this much was in fourth or fifth grade. It is conceivable that I weighed 281 pounds. Today, I am the baby sister, having previously been the “big” baby brother or sister.
“How is it that I am lighter than you?” Slaton asked her sister once. He replied: “You are supposed to be a significant amount lighter than I am.” “Because I am short?” Slaton asked in a joking tone. The query was a response to something.
Combs mentioned how crucial her victories along the road were and how pleased she was for Slaton’s achievement, despite making fun of her throughout the lecture. He replied: “Did I ever imagine that she would be smaller than I?” I’ve never given the idea any thought, therefore the answer is no. It is highly unlikely that she is smaller than me. She has always been a huge person, since the beginning of her life.
In a different Instagram video, Tammy Slaton pauses before proceeding to the next step, skin removal surgery. This information was displayed by the camera. Unfortunately, she has had to temporarily halt her growth, despite her diligent efforts to lose weight.
In this scene from the film, Slaton is speaking with Dr. Brad Turner about her plastic surgery. Dr. Turner claims she isn’t ready for the treatment yet, which makes sense. Bending her head revealed that Slaton was really distressed, indicating that the news had hurt her.
Her statement, which expressed her sadness, was in response to an inquiry regarding the likelihood of additional testing. The TV personality stated, “I just don’t want to get undressed.” She was ready to remove the excess skin. She was going to chop off the excess skin. She had already demonstrated that she genuinely wanted to tackle the problem.
Slaton is still just thirteen months post-surgery, according to Dr. Turner, despite having dropped weight and improved her appearance. She will also have to wait till she achieves her target weight before undergoing skin removal surgery.
“I’m not going to say ‘no.’ I’m just going to say, ‘Not tomorrow,’” Dr. Turner showed the information to Slaton. He also stated that she will be in the best possible shape for the procedure after dropping weight consistently for six months to a year. He stated this was the greatest time for her to have the procedure.
She’s lost a lot of weight from her all-time high of 725 pounds. She has faced numerous challenges along the way, but she has managed to drop weight. She had bariatric surgery in July 2022, which altered her life by allowing her to achieve the weight she currently maintains.
And as Slaton reflected on her victories, she realized that even the little ones had been significant turning points for her. She described her actions before saying this. She no longer requires assistance with breathing, even while she is asleep. She can walk without using a walker or wheelchair. Her numerous successes have helped her achieve these objectives. These significant occurrences have transformed her life.
Slaton continues: “then it was the ability to fit in a standard vehicle, the front seat, and the belt buckle, without the need for an extender.” This was quite intriguing. As a result, the things that others believe are most essential to me are, in fact, the most important to me.
In 2023, she resolved to own and accept responsibility for her weight problems, which marked a significant stride forward in her development. She stated that she understood that being her size was her job. In her address, she stated this. There are moments when I know I can change things, but I let them spiral out of control. This is a duty that I must perform.
The folks who treat her and her family are also quite proud of what she has accomplished. Dr. Eric Smith, the medical director of the Kentucky Bariatric Institute, addressed Slaton about his pride. Dr. Smith has supported Slaton’s weight loss efforts.
Dr. Smith is delighted with her weight loss success, but she is even more excited about the life-changing goals she is achieving, such as becoming happier and healthier.
