Emily Jane shared a video on TikTok, inviting viewers to guess her age. However, she was unprepared for the surprising responses she received, which she described as “wild.”
In her video, Emily appeared without makeup or social media filters and asked for age guesses. To her astonishment, some viewers estimated her to be in her forties, fifties, and even sixties!
One commenter wrote, “I’m 56, and I’d guess you’re around 47.”
Another chimed in, “I’m 42. I’d say you’re about 51.”
One person even remarked, “A really attractive 42, and I’m 29.”
The most shocking guess came from someone who thought she was 58 years old.
“Do I really look like I’m almost 60? Like I’m nearing retirement? Do I actually appear that old?” she questioned in a follow-up video.
Of course, many others believed she looked like she was in her thirties, and a few even thought she could still be in her twenties. The guesses varied widely.

Emily was taken aback by how many people assumed she was much older and eventually decided to share her actual age.
“I just turned 36 last week, so I’m only 36,” she explained.
She understands why people might think she’s older; it’s because she has embraced her naturally grey hair.
“I’ve had grey hair for a while now, and it’s completely natural. I started going grey at 19, and people often assume that because of my grey hair, I must be over 50,” she mentioned in her video.
Even with her grey locks, she was surprised by the age guesses.
In her original video, she noted that the bags under her eyes were due to sleepless nights with her newborn. She also pointed out that she wasn’t wearing any makeup or filters, which might have led to some misconceptions, but she felt she looked perfectly normal.
“I’ve never had any cosmetic procedures. This is my face, and this is how I look. I believe this is what most people my age would look like without any filters,” she stated.
She speculated in her video that the age guesses were more about societal perceptions than about her personally.
She pointed out that many people today may not recognize what a woman looks like naturally, as social media often highlights cosmetic enhancements and filtered images.
“It’s important to remember that what you see on social media, on TV, or in magazines isn’t real. People have been saying this for years. What do you think?” she asked.

However, some viewers disagreed, attributing her perceived age to her grey hair.
“36 going on 60. It’s probably the hair that makes you look older, but you’re still very beautiful,” one commenter wrote.
“I think you look your age. It’s just that people associate white hair with aging and can’t seem to move past that,” another added.
