Beloved TV Star and His Wife Caught Sharing a Heartwarming Moment on Camera
The beloved television actor, who stepped away from his iconic character in 2021, was recently seen in a highly uncommon public appearance alongside his wife, actress Pam Dawber.
According to exclusive pictures from The U.S. Sun, the 73-year-old NCIS icon was beaming from ear to ear while grabbing ice cream in Los Angeles with his wife of 38 years.

During their Sunday, August 24 outing, 73-year-old Pam enjoyed a soft serve cone while a chuckling Mark climbed into the driver’s seat of his truck carrying a milkshake.
Well-known for his signature salt-and-pepper hair during his television tenure, Mark’s hair and eyebrows now appear to be entirely white in these recent photos.
He opted for a relaxed outfit, wearing a plaid button-down shirt paired with navy shorts and sneakers.
Looking as gorgeous as always, Pam displayed a trim physique in khaki cargo pants with her hair styled in a simple, low bun.
Since departing from his 18-year run as Special Agent Gibbs in 2021, Mark has largely maintained a low profile out of the public eye.
Even in retirement, however, he filmed a cameo for the upcoming sequel Freakier Friday alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan—22 years after his appearance in the first movie.
Just like in the original film, he reprises his role as Ryan, the husband to Curtis’s character, Tess.
Loyal viewers frequently wonder if he might make a comeback to NCIS, and his stance seems to be “never say never.”
“It wasn’t so much a decision to leave, but the right timing to push away a little bit,” he explained to TVLine in 2024.
“I was thrilled with the storyline they came up with and how they handled the character. And the show continued on.”
Regarding a potential appearance in the show’s ultimate finale, he stated: “I don’t know. It’s really about feeling like you’re fulfilled with a role, or complete with a role.”
A LASTING MARRIAGE
While his time on NCIS concluded, his commitment as a husband remains as solid as ever.
Mark and Pam tied the knot back in 1987, and together they have two grown sons: Sean and Ty.
Today, Sean works as a stuntman and actor, while Ty makes his living as a screenwriter.
Pam, who originally skyrocketed to stardom as the lead alongside the late Robin Williams in Mork & Mindy, had taken a step back from acting in recent years. However, she made a television comeback in 2021 to act opposite her husband on NCIS.
During Mark’s farewell season, she portrayed investigative journalist Marcie Warren across seven episodes.
Mark has openly discussed how taking the NCIS gig allowed him to smoothly balance his career with raising his family.
“The decision to do NCIS is because I was traveling a lot doing movies and other things and I was trying to stay home more with a young family,” he revealed.
“It was important to be able to make pancakes on Saturday morning.”
