Beloved TV Star Passes Away, Leaving Fans Heartbroken
A Heartbreaking Farewell: Actor and Comedian Alex Duong Passes Away at 42
The wife of the beloved comedian and television actor Alex Duong has shared a poignant update, revealing that he was able to share a final goodbye with their young daughter before his passing.
Alex Duong has died following a year-long struggle with cancer at the age of 42. The news of his passing was confirmed over the weekend by his close friend, Hilarie Steele, through an update on the GoFundMe page established to support his medical journey.
“He was at peace and, thankfully, no longer in pain,” Steele shared in her message.
Duong is survived by his wife, Christina, and their five-year-old daughter, Everest. Steele noted the profound nature of their final moments together, stating, “He was conscious enough to say his goodbyes to his little girl, whom he has cherished deeply every single day since her birth.”
She added, “Our hearts are broken, but we are immensely moved by the outpouring of support, prayers, and kindness shown during this incredibly difficult chapter.”

The actor was widely recognized for his work, including his time on the set of Blue Bloods alongside Donnie Wahlberg.
The situation grew dire late last week when Steele reported that Duong’s health had declined sharply. On Friday, she informed supporters that he had entered septic shock—a critical, life-threatening infection that his body struggled to overcome. “He is hospitalized and in critical condition,” she wrote at the time. “The circumstances have shifted with heartbreaking speed.”
During that period, the family sought assistance for urgent medical expenses, hospital bills, and basic necessities like rent and food.

By Sunday, Steele expressed the family’s deep appreciation for the wave of compassion that followed the news of his death. “The family is overwhelmed with gratitude,” she said. “Please keep Alex and his loved ones in your thoughts. Your generosity is helping them navigate the most painful time of their lives.”

Alex Duong was perhaps most famous for his roles on the hit series Blue Bloods. His diagnosis came in 2025: alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive and rare form of cancer that targets soft tissue.
According to data from the Cleveland Clinic, this specific condition is most commonly found in children, teens, and young adults up to age 35. It is known for its aggressive nature, often spreading rapidly throughout the body once it manifests.
Beyond his notable work on Blue Bloods, Duong’s professional credits included roles in Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, 90210, The Young and the Restless, and Pretty Little Liars.
