Defying the Odds: Chris Tomlinson’s Journey From Childhood Burns to Fatherhood and Hope
Chris Tomlinson lived through a devastating accident in early childhood, suffering burns over 98% of his body when he was only two years old.

At the time, doctors reportedly gave him just a 1% chance of surviving. Chris beat those odds, went through more than 200 surgeries, and continued to face life with determination, a hopeful attitude, and strong faith in God.

Even with the many obstacles he encountered, Chris went on to become a father—something that had once been considered unlikely due to predictions that he would be infertile. Later, he faced a difficult stretch of unemployment and homelessness. During that period, he began sharing his story online, hoping to raise awareness and encourage greater understanding of life with disabilities.

Chris also experienced a painful personal loss when his wife left him, a heartbreak that left him struggling emotionally. Still, he drew strength from his children and stayed focused on being there for them.

His story resonated widely, and people online—especially within the Reddit community—stepped in to support him. Many offered encouragement, practical help, and even financial assistance, giving him renewed hope and a clearer path forward.

He really is an incredible dad, isn’t he?
