A WOMAN has revealed that she has really hairy arms and often receives lots of nasty comments about them, with men telling her it’s unhygienic and women slamming her as lazy.
Body positive social media influencer Millie Mclay, took to TikTok to open up about the rude comments that she has received online about her body hair.
She shared her clip to the video sharing platform with the caption ‘Actual quotes from the comment section of my pinned videos.’
At the start of the clip, we saw Millie wearing a sports bra and a pair of cycling shorts, as she crossed her arms, showing off her body hair.
She said: “POV: You’re a woman with body hair…”
Millie first shared a stock image of a man and claimed that as a result of her hairy arms, men will often ask her: “Are you a man?”
As well as this, Millie then shared a stock picture of an elderly woman, to which she claimed that such women will notice her arm hair and say to her: “That’s not normal or natural, sorry.”
After this, Millie then claimed that some men will point out her arm hair and will claim: “Sorry but that’s not hygienic.”
Not only this, but she shared a picture of a woman and claimed that such girls will accuse her of being lazy, as she explained that they often remark: “You’re just lazy.”
Millie then shared an image of an old woman sitting in a chair with her fists in the air.
To this, Millie claimed that such women will praise her for not shaving her body hair and will simply say: “Feminism.”
Also, Millie explained that some men will claim that she looks dirty, as she shared an image of a man with glasses and claimed that such men say: “Ok but body hair just looks dirty.”
But things got even worse, as Millie shared a stock image of a young man and claimed that such men rudely say: “That’s why you’re single.”
Millie’s video has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly gone viral and has racked up a whopping 1.9million views.
It has 321.7k likes, 5,791 comments and 965 shares.
Social media users were supportive of Millie and rushed to the comments to discuss body hair and why it should be normalised for women.
One person said: “This needs to be normalised. Women and girls shouldn’t have to shave their arms because others don’t like the look of it, or any hair in fact.”
Another added: “If it’s not hygienic, why don’t more men also remove it?”
A third commented: “It’s natural and beautiful. People need to get use to seeing women with body hair.”
Whilst someone else chimed in: “”not natural” “not hygienic” then why does it grow there and why do men have it?”
