Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the smartest and funniest sitcoms I’ve ever seen. Larry David and Cheryl Hines’ connection is one of the factors that makes Curb so great.
These two have as much intelligent banter and tremendous romantic tension as any late-night police procedural or legal drama.
Cheryl spent years ascending through the acting ranks before becoming famous on television; nevertheless, recent emphasis has focused on her relationship with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and her encounter with Fidel Castro.
Cheryl’s most well-known role to date is as Larry David’s patient wife on the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm.
In addition to earning a fair wage as a Hollywood actress, Cheryl is a part of a family known as “American royalty” due to her marriage to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
However, Cheryl had to work really hard to secure her position in the entertainment industry.
She was raised Catholic and was born on September 21, 1965, in Miami Beach, Florida. She eventually went to Tallahassee. Although Cheryl, her sister, and her two brothers did not have much money, they were all expected to attend college and prosper.
Cheryl has been interested in performing since she was a child and spent her whole high school career with the Young Actors Theatre. Looking back, Cheryl believed that her father, James Hines, was significantly responsible for her sense of humor.
He probably exposed me to comedy and the concept of being amusing for the first time. After her father died in 2015, Cheryl said, “He was quick-witted with his own set of phrases and made us laugh until the very end.”
She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career after graduating from the University of Central Florida. However, it was not easy for the aspiring, young Tallahassee actress. She worked as a waitress, television reporter, and telephone operator before landing her big break in Hollywood.
She also worked as Rob Reiner’s personal assistant for a short time.
She was an unpaid intern attempting to establish herself in Los Angeles. She spent her days looking at headshots.
Cheryl witnessed personally the cynicism of Hollywood at the time. One female boss even advised her to “get a boob job” since else she would not have a chance in the business.
“I hadn’t given it much thought at the time, and it didn’t seem necessary,” the lady said. After going home, I wondered if my respect for these ladies was affected by my breast size. “Goldie Hawn doesn’t have big ones,” Cheryl told Yahoo.
Cheryl ultimately decided that she wasn’t “dying to be on Baywatch” and elected not to get surgery.
Cheryl’s career skyrocketed once she began doing skits and improvisational comedy at The Groundlings Theatre.
The comedic troupe Groundlings includes Friends actress Lisa Kudrow (Pheobe), who also served as Cheryl’s first professor. The Groundlings provided Cheryl with invaluable expertise in funny sketch writing and improvisation. It was a great school.
Learning to know Larry David
Prior to Curb Your Enthusiasm, Cheryl’s television credentials included minor appearances and cameos on programs such as Unsolved Mysteries and Swamp Thing.
To say Cheryl was unknown in Hollywood when Larry David came would be an understatement. He wanted a “unknown actress” to play his husband in the television show.
Her life changed when she was cast as “Cheryl” in the successful comedy; nevertheless, in 2000, Cheryl was oblivious of Larry’s true identity.
“So how old is that guy?”I asked. Is he not that old?She remembers before meeting Larry, who was 75 years old.
The audition was also a huge fiasco. The casting director gave her an unusual heads-up before Cheryl arrived.
“Avoid touching Larry. The casting director began by stating that Larry hated being touched and that the show was intended to have a documentary feel to it. “So if at any point it feels fake… the audition will be over,” she stated, before on to say, “and here’s Larry.”
Fortunately, Cheryl did admirably. Larry made the correct option; the “unknown actors” performed an excellent job portraying her role on the show.
Curb Your Enthusiasm’s dialogue is mostly improvised. Despite a vague narrative or structure, each actor in the play must improvise dialogue on the fly.
When I first started watching the episodes (quite recently), I had entirely forgotten that Cheryl was an actor; one might easily believe she is Larry’s wife.
It appears I wasn’t the only one who was bewildered.
“People in Tallahassee thought, ‘Well, maybe Cheryl got married,’ when the show first came out,” she said.
Unfortunately, Cheryl and Larry are no longer together, despite Cheryl appearing in over 100 episodes of the show. In season eight, her character splits up with Larry. She then began dating Ted Danson, a friend of Larry’s.
HBO chose to renew the series for a twelfth season in August 2022.
Robin & Cheryl Williams
Cheryl, who was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014, has worked on a number of projects since her time on Curb. She has appeared in various films, including the road comedy RV, where she costarred with the late Robin Williams.
Cheryl made her feature film debut in RV, playing a frustrated mother trapped to a dilapidated trailer on a family holiday.
“I don’t believe my friends got into my idea that Robin Williams and I would be costarring.” “Oh my god, you’re in the whole movie,” they screamed after viewing the teasers,” Cheryl told The Tallahassee Democrat in 2006.
Cheryl, like so many others, was surprised by Williams’ kindness and charity. Despite being the film’s primary role, he invited Cheryl and every other actor to join him on set.
“Robin was really kind. He hugged me the instant I saw him and told me he adored the guys from “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Cheryl said.
With Fidel Castro, lemonade
Naturally, Cheryl has met other mega-celebrities throughout her life, in addition to Robin Williams. She claims to be pals with well-known novelist Nick Hornby, and Barbra Streisand once played Running Charades at her house.
In addition, Cheryl enjoys playing poker and has won $50,000 in the past. Did she ever enjoy a drink of lemonade with Fidel Castro at his Cuban home?
In a 2022 visit on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Cheryl stated, “This was probably ten years ago.”
In addition, my spouse asked if we may pay Mr. Castro a visit while we were there. When we arrived at the hotel, a guy in a white linen suit and a cap welcomed us and said, “El Presidente will see you.” According to Cheryl, a van arrived to pick us up.
Getting married with a Kennedy
Cheryl’s first husband, Paul Young, was a manager and producer. Catherine Rose Young, the couple’s daughter, was born in 2004, following their marriage in 2002.
After seven years of marriage, Cheryl and Paul decided to end it and file for divorce. According to Cheryl, they have remained close friends and collaborated on set after their breakup.
In a Fox News interview, she said, “Larry David was my first husband because when I started doing ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ I was single and had never been married before.”
“After that, I wed Paul Young and subsequently, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
A year after her first divorce, Cheryl began dating Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmental lawyer and novelist. Cheryl’s spouse is the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and the son of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
“Our values are similar.” The first family. When they first met, Cheryl said, “We like to work hard and have a good time.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cheryl met through her husband Larry David, who made infrequent appearances on television.
In a podcast, Hines said, “He introduced us—just because we were at the same event.”
However, Larry later stated, “That’s a terrible idea.” After all, we’ve been married for eight years. Do not get entangled.
In 2014, the actress from Curb Your Enthusiasm married Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 300 guests attended the event at the Kennedy property on Cape Cod, including Larry David and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Cheryl has recounted how much her life has changed when they first met and fell in love. The sheer number of individuals Kennedy and his distinguished family have influenced has astounded her.
Cheryl and her family are grateful for Bobby and his family’s contributions to our country, human rights, and democracy, she stated. “Someone will basically come up to Bobby in tears and say,” she went on to explain.
However, her husband has lately come under fire for making some extremely inflammatory statements at a rally against vaccine regulations.
Cheryl first described her husband’s statement as “reprehensible and insensitive,” and subsequently addressed how they should share knowledge.
She told Yahoo, “I believe I’ve taught him to… I don’t want to say lighten up because he’s more “funny and lighter” than his public persona suggests.”
I hope to educate him to check it at the door. Do not carry everything home, for example. He is so dedicated to critical things that it’s like, “Oh man. Sometimes all you need is to watch 30 Rock to cleanse your mind.”

Cheryl Hines decided to participate in the ABC sitcom Suburgatory in 2011. She was an excellent addition to the cast and a well appreciated and renowned actress, but the show only aired for three seasons.
Dallas Royce, portrayed by Cheryl, was a “110% upper middle-class suburban mother” who wore tight clothing, silicone rubber, lifeless hair, tanning solution, and Red Bull.
Cheryl is regarded as one of the loveliest performers in Hollywood due to her lovely smile. We don’t know whether she has had any cosmetic treatments, such as cheek fillers, breast implants, facelifts, nose jobs, or Botox.
Cheryl Hines plays Dallas Royce after a little Botox incident.

However, her presence in Suburgatory gives us an excellent picture of what she would have looked like. Dallas Royce chooses to have too much botox in one of the episodes for comedic effect. The actress’s lips, cheeks, and forehead are covered in silicone, giving her a strange appearance.
Fortunately, after the recordings, she was able to return to her normal self.
Cheryl is currently a permanent member of the I Can See Your Voice panel. While I’m sure we’ll see her on television for years to come, it remains to be seen what she comes up with next!
Is Cheryl maturing like a nice wine, or is it just me? I appreciate all of the memories you have created, and I wish you the best of luck moving ahead!
