Pink and Carey Hart Split Again After 20 Years Together, Insider Claims

After two decades together, Pink and her husband, Carey Hart, have decided to part ways, according to a source who spoke with PEOPLE magazine.

The 46-year-old “Trustfall” vocalist and the 50-year-old retired professional motocross rider are parents to two children: their 14-year-old daughter, Willow Sage, and 9-year-old son, Jameson Moon.

Their romance first sparked in Philadelphia at the 2001 Summer X Games. Following a few years of an on-and-off relationship, Hart popped the question in 2005, and the couple officially tied the knot in Costa Rica in January 2006.

Just two years into their marriage, the pair announced their initial separation. Even while living apart, they maintained an amicable relationship—Hart famously made an appearance in Pink’s breakup-inspired music video for “So What.” By the spring of 2009, they had managed to patch things up and officially canceled their divorce proceedings.

“We’re rebuilding,” Hart shared at the time. “Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backwards to move forward.”

Throughout their time together, Pink has always been transparent about the effort required to maintain their bond. During a 2021 PEOPLE cover interview, she spoke openly about their relational highs and lows, disclosing that they utilized both couples counseling and individual therapy to work through their hurdles. Later that same year, she provided fans with an intimate glimpse into their domestic life through her Prime Video documentary, All I Know So Far.

Currently, Pink—whose birth name is Alecia Moore—is nominated for induction into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

“Long-term relationships are not easy. It is much easier to stay in the solid days and jump from relationship to relationship, because then you don’t have to fix the problems that keep recurring,” Pink expressed to PEOPLE. “You have to end up fixing yourself; you can’t fix the other person. So it can be challenging, and there’s good days and there’s bad days.”

Elaborating further on the dynamics of marriage, Pink noted, “I think it’s an impossible expectation for you to think that you’re going to evolve at exactly the same pace as another person in exactly the same direction. So it takes work to redefine what’s important. I don’t want to break up my family. That’s been my main goal, since I had a broken family. Sometimes you have to let it go. You can’t die on every mountain.”

Fast forward to a 2023 PEOPLE cover story, where Pink once again discussed remaining devoted during the rocky phases of her marriage to Hart. She highlighted that both she and her husband possess a fierce sense of independence, a trait she credited with keeping their partnership alive for so long. Instead of staying together out of mere necessity, she explained that their connection survived because they continually made the active choice to remain united, despite both being perfectly capable of navigating life independently.
