When Pumpkin’s mother was scheduled for a spay, he was relinquished to Sidewalk Specials. The young dog was severely underweight and infested with parasites, including worms, anemia, and tick bite fever. Filled with fear and uncertainty about what lay ahead, he trembled uncontrollably.
Initially, “foster” sounded like a terrifying term, but it turned out to entail a nourishing diet, companionship, and affection. Pumpkin was granted a new lease on life that he would not have received otherwise. Presently, he happily prances and bounds around his permanent abode, where he feels content and couldn’t imagine a better existence. 🙂
