‘Revenge of the Nerds’ Actor Dies at 71, Leaving Fans Heartbroken
Two iconic stars from the beloved 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds have passed away within just three months of one another, both tragically losing their lives at the age of 71.
Actor Donald Gibb, widely recognized for his role as “Ogre” in the legendary film franchise, died at 71, as reported by TMZ.
His passing occurs a mere three months following the death of his Nerds co-star Robert Carradine, who also died at 71 this past February.
According to TMZ, who spoke with his son, Travis, Gibb passed away on Tuesday evening at his residence in Texas after battling ongoing health issues. His son emphasized that he was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments.

Travis shared with the publication that his dad deeply loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his supporters with his entire heart. He requested prayers and privacy for the family, noting that their father will be profoundly missed and permanently remembered.
Even though Gibb is most famous for playing the massive Alpha Beta fraternity brother in the Nerds series, he also had starring roles in the 1988 martial arts film Bloodsport and its 1996 follow-up, Bloodsport II: The Next Kumite.
His additional on-screen appearances feature projects like 1st & Ten, Hancock, Jocks, and Amazon Women on the Moon.
Before diving into his Hollywood career, he also had a short athletic run playing for the San Diego Chargers, as noted on his IMDB page.

His co-star Robert Carradine, famous for portraying Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds alongside Gibb, took his own life following a struggle with bipolar disorder, according to a February statement from his brother, actor Keith Carradine, as reported by Deadline.
The performances of both Carradine and Gibb in the 1984 comedy—which centers on a band of misfits standing up to a popular jock fraternity—captured the hearts of moviegoers and cemented the production as an absolute classic.
“It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away,” his relatives shared in an official statement at the time of his death.
