A rising actor known for appearing in Gotti alongside John Travolta and Unbroken with Angelina Jolie has died suddenly, just days after sharing his final post on social media.
Spencer Lofranco, the Canadian performer most recognized for his leading roles in Jamesy Boy and Gotti, has passed away at the age of 33.
According to TMZ, authorities in British Columbia, Canada, are currently investigating Lofranco’s death. No official cause has been released.
The Post has reached out to his representative for further comment.
News of his passing was confirmed by his brother, Santino Lofranco, who shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram today.
“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother,” Santino wrote. “You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed people’s lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you, Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.”
Spencer’s final Instagram update, posted on November 11, featured a black-and-white selfie along with a caption saying:
“I’m getting my face tatoo burned out so subscribe to my only fans. Period the best is yet to come. The hair is on it way it’s got held up customs. Crazy.”
Throughout his career, Spencer appeared in seven films, debuting in the 2013 romantic comedy At Middleton, where he shared the screen with Andy Garcia, Vera Farmiga, and Taissa Farmiga.
In 2014, he portrayed ex-convict James Burns in the biographical drama Jamesy Boy, directed by Trevor White. The cast also included Taissa Farmiga, Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames, and James Woods.
He later took on a leading role in Kevin Connolly’s 2018 biopic Gotti, centered on New York mob boss John Gotti. Travolta played the infamous gangster, while Spencer portrayed his son, John “Junior” Gotti. Travolta’s late wife, Kelly Preston, appeared in the film as Victoria DiGiorgio Gotti.
His additional film credits include Angelina Jolie’s 2014 war drama Unbroken, the 2015 short film Home, the 2015 crime drama Dixieland, and the 2016 biopic King Cobra, about adult film actor Sean Paul Lockhart.
In a 2014 interview with Interview magazine, Spencer explained that his passion for acting came from his mother, who worked as a dancer, opera singer, and actress.
“Growing up, sometimes my mum would take me to auditions and I would sit in the waiting room with her,” he recalled.
He added that his father preferred a different path for him: “My dad didn’t want me to be an actor; he wanted me to be a hockey player and become a lawyer. That didn’t happen.”
Spencer also referred to Angelina Jolie, now 50, as his “dream girl” and spoke about how thrilled he was to work with her on Unbroken.
As the interview wrapped up, he expressed his aspirations for his career:
“I want to do real-life, candid films,” he said. “I don’t want to be thrown into anything that could jeopardize my career. I want to be wise about what I choose. Actors whose choices I’ve liked are Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, River Phoenix.”
