Trump’s Ear ‘Frank’s Sign’ Sparks Concern Over a Possible Serious Health Condition
Recent reports suggest that a concerning rash on President Donald Trump’s neck might be indicative of a serious, potentially life-threatening health issue.
While discussions regarding Trump’s well-being have frequently made the news over recent years, the speculation has intensified significantly since the start of his second stint in the White House in early 2025.
Rumors have been fueled by the occasional appearance of severe bruising on his hands, alongside video clips that seem to show the president slurring his speech or nodding off during official meetings.
Despite repeated assurances from Trump himself—and his senior administration officials—that he remains in prime physical condition, persistent rumors suggest that the 79-year-old may be concealing a medical problem from the general public.
It is important to clarify that there is currently no concrete evidence supporting any sort of health cover-up. However, his appearance last week with a severe-looking neck rash has only amplified the voices of those who believe his health is deteriorating.
While attending the Medal of Honor Ceremony on March 2, Trump was seen with a prominent, unsightly rash visible just above his shirt collar. Observers quickly began to share their theories, with many focusing on the possibility of a decline in his overall health.

In response, the president’s personal physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, released a statement explaining that the red marks were simply the result of a “preventative skin treatment.”
According to the New York Times, Dr. Barbabella clarified: “President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment. The president is using the treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks.”
Even though Trump’s doctor firmly denied any connection between the rash and deeper medical issues, some observers remain highly skeptical.
David Pakman, host of The David Pakman Show, closely examined the recent photos and highlighted a distinct diagonal crease on Trump’s earlobe. Pakman noted that this specific feature can sometimes indicate severe underlying health problems, specifically coronary artery disease.
Pakman elaborated on this phenomenon, known as “Frank’s sign.” Initially identified by Dr. Sanders Frank in 1973, this diagonal earlobe crease is frequently observed in individuals suffering from cardiovascular ailments.
“Since 1973… there have been multiple studies looking at the correlation, not necessarily causative, but a correlation between that ear crease called Frank’s Sign and cardiovascular disease,” Pakman stated.
He added: “There is research that has found that people with the crease are significantly more likely to be suffering from atherosclerosis. The theory is small blood vessel damage may be notable in the earlobe tissue causes the sign and correlates with coronary artery disease.”
Pakman also provided important context, continuing: “Trump is also almost 80 years old. He’s going to be 80 in three months. Skin creases and folds would be expected and normal. [It] doesn’t really prove anything. And then you can also have situations where lighting and camera angles, they might make Frank’s mark more notable.”
“But that diagonal crease visible in photos is very similar to what doctors look at and say, ‘Oh, that should make us really look at atherosclerosis coronary artery disease,’” Pakman concluded.
