Vivek Chevvakula has made it his mission to rescue dogs that have gotten plastic bottles stuck on their heads. He has already saved over 25 dogs, and unfortunately, this problem is all too common. If people would take the time to crush their plastic containers, hungry stray dogs wouldn’t be as likely to stick their heads inside in search of food.
The most challenging aspect of these rescues is the initial fear that the helpless dogs experience when approached. They are already nervous and unable to see what’s going on, so it becomes a race to complete the rescue as soon as possible. However, according to Vivek, there is no greater feeling than freeing them. “Taking the bottle off the dog’s head makes me feel incredibly happy.”
